Innovation Programme
What is it?
Accelerator Programs
Innovation programmes are a guided, accelerator type program aiming to educate student participants about aspects of starting and developing a medical technology business or research project as they work to develop a solution for a real unmet clinical need.
Develop a Solution
Innovation programmes create interdisciplinary teams of medical, engineering, business and other science students with each team focused to working on a different problem presented by a clinician expert, researcher or occasionally a corporate partner. The teams work together to develop a solution over a period of weeks to months and are provided with a series of educational talks focusing on different aspects of medtech business.
Pitch to Experts
At the completion of the program, the teams pitch their ideas to an expert panel including but not limited to the clinicans who presented the ideas and intellectual property and business experts where they are given feedback and a winner is chosen.
Support after Finishing
Participating teams are also supported after they finish the program being advised about potentially relevant conferences to present their work, funding opportunities or pointed towards other expert support.
